The Martin church of Christ exists to Worship, Edify, Serve and Evangelize; seeking to imitate Christ by glorifying God in worshiping together, uplifting each other, serving our neighbors and sharing the hope we have of eternal life.

Expanded Mission Statement

WORSHIP:

(Worshiping Together) Seeking to imitate Christ in our devotion to and worship of God the Father, we commit ourselves to glorifying God by making Christ the focus of everything we teach and do. We seek to worship Him in spirit and truth and will therefore practice only that which the scriptures authorize.

(1 Corinthians 10:31; Luke 4:8; John 4:24; Matthew 6:33; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 12:28,29)

(Uplifting One Another) Seeking to imitate Christ in our attempts to love and care for one another, we desire and encourage each individual to be a faithful and active member of the body of Christ. We emphasize the development of each member into a mature Christian so that the whole body will be healthy, growing and full of love.

(Ephesians 4:1-16; Hebrews 10:24-25; John 13:34-35)

SERVE:

(Serving Others) Seeking to imitate Christ in service to others, we attempt to serve each other, our neighbors and our community by meeting both physical and spiritual needs.

(Matthew 25:34-36; Luke 10:29-37; Galatians 6:9,10; James 1:27)

EDIFY:

(Uplifting One Another) Seeking to imitate Christ in our attempts to love and care for one another, we desire and encourage each individual to be a faithful and active member of the body of Christ. We emphasize the development of each member into a mature Christian so that the whole body will be healthy, growing and full of love.

(Ephesians 4:1-16; Hebrews 10:24-25; John 13:34-35)

EVANGELIZE:

(Sharing The Hope of Eternal Life) Seeking to imitate Christ in his love for the lost, we look for opportunities to share the hope we have of eternal life. We believe we have an obligation to preach and teach those around us the beautiful Gospel of salvation and peace. Therefore, we follow the Great Commission to preach the Gospel of Christ out of our response to the first and second great Commandments: Love God and Love your Neighbor as yourself.

(Matthew 28:19,20; Matthew 22:36-40; 2 Timothy 2:2)
